Live Outloud! Worship Leader

Rev. Kathy Helms, on staff at Hatcher as of July 1, 2007 works along with our worship planning team to serve in our Live Outloud! Community Worship service that is geared towards anyone searching for a relaxed, creative and participatory approach to worship.

Kathy has a Bachelors of Music Therapy from Shenandoah College and Conservatory and a Masters of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary of Richmond. She has served on staff in a Music Minister capacity at three churches before coming to Hatcher where she grew up.

Part of her vision for the new service is that it is a welcoming place where people can experience their faith in refreshing ways and that the service will provide a spiritual perspective in today’s world.

Children, youth and adults have opportunities to actively participate through:

 drama, art, dance, music, prayer, scripture reading and media.

Rev. Helms supports a creative approach in order to make the worship experience relevant and meaningful to a variety of learning styles and to allow worshippers to use their talents and gifts as an act of worship.
