Health Ministry
Hatcher's Health Ministry, headed by our Parish Nurse, links faith and health. It is a ministry of service shaped by Christ's love and concern for all aspects of the human condition. It promotes health, wellness, and wholeness for all ages of the congregation and community.
Services
- Consultation -- For health questions and finding resources.
- Advocacy -- For those who need a voice.
- Referral -- To appropriate agencies and providers.
- Education -- Health and Wellness Issues through displays, classes, and other special events.
- Support -- Physical and spiritual support during times of illness or other times of distress.
About the Ministry
There is no charge for information, or volunteer services arranged through this ministry. Some possible services available are:
- Transportation (must be able walk and get into a car)
- Taking notes during a doctor's visit
- Assisting with paperwork
- Shopping
- Light housework
- In-home visiting and/or
- Respite care
- Blood pressure screening
- Medical information
- Community resources
- Spiritual support
- Communion to you at home
The Health Ministry Team and Volunteers serve with Janice Lynn, the Parish Nurse, to plan and assist with programs and providing services to those in need.
