NEWSLETTER

09/27/07

We had our meeting on 9/23 and did a lot of planning for the next few months.

Lakeside House – Saturday, Oct. 27th – 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.

They want us to do BINGO again and a fall craft.  Please let me know ASAP if you will be able to attend.  I will be out of town and Donna W. is not sure if she can get off, so I need to make sure we have plenty of people to run this event.  Donna and I both will supply some prizes and food items.  I will go thru my Scout stuff and see what I can find as far as a craft.  If any of you have a suggestion (Marsha, Peggy), please let me know.  I will be out of town from the 20th – 27th and will need to make sure you have all the supplies before hand.  Everyone should bring in prize items, such as healthy snacks, socks, lotion, combs, shaving cream, etc.  We also will provide healthy refreshments for them.  Last time we had a fruit tray, veggies, nuts and tea.  Donna W. is going to make goodie bags for them to take home.  Please let me know what you want to bring/supply.

October 28 – Next Meeting – Time Change to 5:15

We decided to bring in items for the young ladies in the Smith House on October 28th, our next meeting.

This is one of the houses that the McShin Foundation sponsors and they supply the paper products.  Donna W. called and got a “wish list”:  canned fruit, canned veggies, cereal (healthy Special K or Natural), oatmeal (variety), and tampons.  She found out that they do not have a dishwasher, so we could also do dish clothes, dish towels, cleaning sponges, etc.  Other suggestions would be granola bars, snack packs, and stuff good for on the go.  All of them are either in school or working.

BINGO at the VA Hospital –

Monday, November 26th – We can discuss what everyone will bring at the Oct. meeting.  Teachers, maybe you can get your students to make cards.  This is the closes date to Veterans’ Day I could get.  That is a good thing so them.

I returned the call to United Methodist Services,

but had to leave a message and they have not called me back.  I will pass on the info as I get it.
