Hatcher Baptist Church is located in the heart of Richmond’s historic Lakeside Community.  We are an inclusive faith community that believes God is at work in our lives, our neighborhood, our city and our world.  We are looking for a part-time Worship Leader/Choir Director for our Traditional service and Church Office Ministry Coordinator  
 
Part-time Worship Leader/Choir Director for our Traditional service

Responsibilities to include:

  • Scheduling and conducting the Chancel Choir for rehearsals in collaboration with the church organist.
  • Collaborate with the pastor in preparing weekly Order of Worship.
  • Collaborate directly with Organist as a team.
  • Collaborate directly with New Day Worship Leaders when combined services and/or special events.
  • Assist in planning special services – Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week.
  • Curricula selection, ordering and evaluation.
  • Collaborate directly with audio/visual team.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings/planning sessions and honors Staff Covenant.
  • Help with being responsible for checking the maintenance of church instruments, sanctuary, lighting, sound, materials stored in pews, set up for worship, etc.

Part-time Church Office Ministry Coordinator 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Methodical and efficient; paying attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Comfortable managing technology platforms, including social media, simple website maintenance and online calendaring, as well as being familiar with Microsoft and Excel
  • A team player who is open to working closely with our ministry staff in a fun and cooperative work environment
  • It is our hope, the candidate is an active member of a local faith community who understands and values the nature of congregational life and faith development

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the central hub of communication for our congregation by organizing and overseeing the communications that go from the congregation to its members and into the community
  • Create, update and disperse ongoing communication materials including the worship bulletins, e-newsletters, website maintenance
  • Collaborate with staff to plan communication materials for programs, issues, ministry needs and successes
  • Work closely with the pastoral staff to develop and implement a thoughtful strategy for both print and electronic communications
  • Take primary responsibility for organizing the church’s online calendar of events to include communicating these events within the congregation and to the community effectively
  • Provide a consistent presence in the office on their days of work, answering doors, dispensing church and ministry information, answering phone, processing mail and distributions, and other administrative duties as needed
